Individualized occupational therapy services help your child thrive in school and beyond

Hello! My name is Laura Faye Clubok. I am a registered and licensed occupational therapist (OTR/L) who also has a congenital hand difference. I earned my undergraduate degree at Harvard University and my master's degree in occupational therapy (OT) at the Boston School of Occupational Therapy at Tufts University. My passion for my profession was sparked at the age of 8 when I began receiving OT services to help me manage tasks with one typical hand and one hand with a thumb.
I created On The Other Hand Therapy in 2001. Over the past two decades, I have provided pediatric OT services to hundreds of students, presented to local educators and parents about fine motor skill development and movement, facilitated motor groups for preschools and elementary schools, and collaborated and consulted with educators on handwriting instruction and incorporating multisensory learning into school curricula.
Please get in touch if you are interested in my services.

We are thrilled to work with clients ages 3-15 who reside in the Columbus, Ohio area, of any background, gender, national origin, race, religious observance, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. We are an approved provider for the Jon Peterson Special Needs Scholarship and the Ohio Autism Scholarship from the Ohio Department of Education.

We have been offering evidence-based motor groups for preschoolers and kindergarteners for well over a decade in Columbus-area schools. The program began as an OT/PT collaboration to help fill the gap for children entering kindergarten whose motor skills are underdeveloped.

Baby Motor Consultations
We educate new parents on how to help their babies develop core strength and strong motor skills as they grow.

We offer experiential pediatric internships for Columbus-area undergraduates in pre OT, pre-PT, and early childhood fields of study.

My time spent with Laura and On The Other Hand Therapy set the foundation for my career in occupational therapy. I was treated as a peer and shown not only how to be a great occupational therapist but a great human too.
-
I genuinely believe that working with Laura and the other interns enabled me to expand my perspectives and think creatively about physical therapy. I highly encourage any OT/PT student to apply if they are looking for a fun and educational experience!
-
The internship allowed for hands-on experience, built my critical thinking skills, and allowed me to build confidence and expertise in creating client-centered treatment sessions. I gained personalized and unique clinical experience that propelled me into a doctoral program.
-
Laura is extremely helpful and open to feedback, she wants to do her best to make sure it's a positive experience for the interns and preschoolers.
-
This internship truly made me see OT in a new light.
-
She has made so many gains this year - I know partly just because she's simply getting older, but the gains have been so significant that I have to say THANK YOU! I now believe my daughter truly is ready for formal learning.
-
It was amazing. Such a great learning experience. I learned so much and was able to have more hands on experience than ever before.
-
I would recommend this internship because it is such a good experience, such valuable information is learned, and it is such a cool way to make relationships with kids and other interns as well.
-
I have been impressed with the improvement that the motor group has made for our children. I have seen a clear connection between the movement-based exercises and the children’s ability to learn and focus in the classroom. It is fun and engaging for all of the children, and our preschool is much stronger because of it.
-
This internship has solidified my desire to be an occupational therapist, and I could really see myself working in pediatrics. I wanted to gain more hands on experience within the field and that is exactly what I got. I have grown a lot with my confidence and just loved this experience and getting to spend time with the kids.

Since beginning OT, we have seen tremendous growth in our son. In the broadest sense, he is just more “put together”. He can manage transitions, which used to be very challenging for him. He is able to organize his homework and complete it independently. His stamina has increased in both gross and fine motor tasks. He has gained some understanding of his sensory needs and how to manage them more effectively. His spatial awareness has developed. He no longer crashes into things or other people.
-
The therapeutic listening has been a game-changer for our son. It has helped him manage his anxiety and helps him get ready for school independently. I cannot overstate how grateful we are for OT and Mrs. Clubok!
-
Her outbursts and meltdowns have become fewer and farther between. Her overall attitude has become more positive.
-
Every day that she had motor group, she was so excited to show me the movements she had learned. I'm glad that it was a fun experience for her, and I'm more pleased that she has a stronger readiness to enter Kindergarten next year.
-
I would definitely recommend this internship for anyone interested in OT/PT. It is a great way to learn more about pediatric occupational therapy, and it can really help you figure out if it is the right career path for you.
-
It is great to be given activities to do at home, so she can keep working on her goals.
-
OT has been fantastic. I love that the line of communication is so open. The sessions have been engaging and enjoyable for her. I know what my daughter is doing and why it is important for her development.
